Land of stone
The name Folegandros probably comes from the Phoenician "phelekgundari" which means "island of stone". We can clearly see through this watercolour how arid is this island. And yet, at sunset, the stone is adorned with bluish reflections, the shadows are dotted with luminous plants in the shape of lines, points, spheres. The bright blue sky is cloudless, peaceful.
